A three-day Strategic Planning Conference with DILG and LGU focal persons on ELCAC was successfully conducted by DILG Rehiyon Dose through the Local Government Monitoring and Evaluation Division (LGMED) on February 28–March 1, 2024, at the Dolores Tropicana Resort in General Santos City.
The main objectives of the Strategic Planning Conference are to review past achievements, proactively address potential issues related to fund utilization, operational, and administrative matters, and outline and refine strategies for the successful execution of programs under EO 70, specifically on the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) and Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (ECLIP).
On behalf of the LGMED Division Chief Musarapha A. Alim, MPA, the Regional ELCAC Focal Person and Assistant Division Chief, LGOO VI Ian Jon S. Clemente, graciously and cordially thanked the participants for their active involvement in this endeavor to put an end to insurgencies in the region. Along with sharing the operating plan and budget, ADC Clemente also talked about the next steps in putting the Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC) for CY 2024 into action.
Meanwhile, in order to obtain the complete details of the Former Rebels (FRs) and their family members, LGOO V Mel Roy B. Manait provided a detailed explanation of the expanded and improved ECLIP information system.
In the course of the activity, the participants also presented the noteworthy achievements of the Provincial and Municipal Task Forces, as well as the results of their workshop on identifying gaps and challenges, formulating strategies, interventions and future directions, and finalizing the EO 70 strategic plan.
