The Local Government Academy (LGA) of the DILG conducted last September 23, 2016 an activity dubbed as Federalism Express (FedEx) with the theme “Moving Towards Change: Strengthening the Response of the DILG to Federalism and Other Priority Programs of the Department”. Federalism Express was aimed at equipping and enhancing the department’s knowledge and readiness towards change to federalism.

In attendance during the FedEx were Regional, Provincial and City Directors, CLGOOs, Cluster Heads and Legal Officers of DILG Regions VI to XII, NIR, CARAGA and ARMM. Interior and Local Government Secretary Ismael “Mike” Sueno also graced the event. In his short message, the Secretary re-echoed President Duterte’s confidence to the department in spearheading the campaign on the shift towards federal form of government. 
Federalism advocates Professor Clarita Carlos of the University of the Philippines- Diliman and Atty. Raul Lambino were the resource speakers. FedEx concluded the three-day activity held in Davao City in celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the Local Government Code of 1991 come October 2016.
