Five local projects from four local government units (LGUs) of Cotabato were formally endorsed to DILG Central Office for funding under the Department’s Assistance to Municipalities (AM) Program, DILG XII –Project Development Management Unit (PDMU) confirmed.

Included in the list of projects endorsed for fund release were road projects in Barangay Baranginan, Alamada, Barangay San Mateo, Aleosan, Barangays Kiloyao and Montay, Libungan, and Barangay Labuo, President Roxas.

A total budget of Php 41, 794, 000.00, including LGU equity of Php 250, 000.00 each for beneficiary-barangays from Libungan, is allotted for the projects. At least 13, 283 residents are projected to benefit from it.

The endorsement came after the LGUs successfully completed the governance reform requirements of the program which include passing the Good Financial Housekeeping, Local Development Council Functionality, and Public Financial Management Assessments, and other technical requirements.

AM program is part of DILG’s Local Government Support Fund (LGSF) which aims to assist all municipalities in delivering basic services and implementing priority programs and projects included in their respective Local Development Investment Plans.

The program funds the purchase, construction, improvement and rehabilitation of local access roads, local bridges, potable water system projects, evacuation center and disaster risk reduction-related equipment, small water impounding projects, rain water catchment facilities, sanitation and health facilities, and municipal drug rehabilitation facilities.

DILG Central Office is set to formally endorse the said projects to the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) for fund release along with other AM proposed projects from other regions.
