True to its commitment in incentivizing LGUs for their outstanding performance in good governance, the DILG 12 recently conducted the Joint Regional Awarding Ceremony for the Local Legislative Awards (LLA) and the Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives and Awards (LTIA) at Koronadal City, South Cotabato.
More than a hundred functionaries and guests composed of the Sanggunians and Members of the Lupong Tagapamayapa of winning LGUs, members of the Regional Awards Committee (RAC) for both LLA and LTIA were present in the Filipiniana-inspired awarding ceremony.
The Regional LLA winners who were conferred with the award are the following: Gen. Santos City for the HUC/ICC Category; Tacurong City for the Component Cities Category; and, Glan, Sarangani Province for the 1st-3rd Class Municipalities Category.
Meanwhile, the Lupong Tagapamayapa of the following LGUs were conferred with the LTIA Award: Brgy. City Heights, Gen. Santos City for the HUC category; Upper Katungal, Tacurong City for the
ICC/CC Category; and, Malamote, Kabacan, Cotabato for the 1st-3rd Class Municipalities Category.
In his inspirational message, DILG 12 Regional Director Reynaldo M. Bungubung, CESO IV, announced with pride that the Region has produced and continues to produce national winners. In 2015, Tacurong City bagged the second place on the national level for the Component Cities Category of the LLA. Meanwhile, Barangay Poblacion of Polomolok, South Cotabato landed as the national winner in the 1st-3rd Class Category of the LTIA. Director Bunbgubung encouraged everyone to keep on working for excellence in good governance.
The Local Legislative Award was institutionalized by the Philippine Councilors League (PCL) and the DILG, and is being implemented every three (3) years, to recognize the exemplary performance of the sanggunians in legislating measures that help build the foundation of meaningful local administration and development. On the other hand, in its effort to continuously strengthen the implementation of Katarungang Pambarangay program in the Region, and to further encourage the lupons to sustain their good practices in the performance of their mandate, the Department holds the annual awarding ceremony for the LTIA.
