The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) underscored its proposed programs and priorities for local government units (LGUs) under the FY 2026 national budget during the Usapang Budget Natin Forum #GAA2026, held on February 10, 2025, in Koronadal City. The forum convened 10 national government agencies, each presenting their flagship programs and projects for the upcoming fiscal year.
In his presentation, Undersecretary Marlo L. Iringan emphasized that the DILG’s proposed budget will focus on the implementation of locally funded projects, ease of doing business, strengthening citizen participation, anti-drug initiatives, disaster resilience, and the promotion of transparency and accountability in local governance.
Usec. Iringan also highlighted the importance of capacity development programs of the Local Government Academy for LGUs and DILG field personnel, alongside the monitoring and evaluation of Local Government Support Fund (LGSF) assisted projects to ensure effective and accountable utilization of public funds.
In addition to the forum, the DILG participated in the Serbisyo Caravan simultaneous activity, extending its support to communities through the provision of legal advice services.
The Usapang Budget Natin Forum #GAA2026 served as a vital platform for government agencies to present priorities and strengthen collaboration, ensuring that programs and resources under the FY 2026 national budget are responsive to the needs of communities nationwide.
